I rescued Phred July 26. He’s gotten used to his new spacious (5 gal hex) home, and built his first attempt at a “bubble mess” (my 5 year old daughter’s term). Phred had fin issues when I got him; but I didn’t notice that till we got home. There is nothing sharp in the tank for him to catch on; and he did have white tips on his fins last week. Now it looks almost like his fins are growing fringe. I am giving him garlic juice, fish pro, and vitachem daily to try to keep the fin issue in check. In addition to his good morning dance, he also flared at his reflection for the first time this morning! I’m hoping the flaring means he has finally settled in and his fins are feeling better. The perameters in the tank are good - no ammonia or nitrites, nitrate is 5. The temp in the tank is about 82.
