MTS strikes again!!! mom has decided that ONE tank at home is NOT ENOUGH!!!! SOOOOOOOOOO we went out and got her a tank for her cubicle at work...and we're getting a 20 gallon aquarium for home. we picked out a GORGEOUS purple boy, whom she named Louie after my dentist. (long story ) and he loves it at work because everyone coos over him, and we've gotten one of mom's friends into it too!!! BUT i noticed that his dorsal fin is curled. just at the top. it's fine when he's swimming, but when he stops it curls up again!!! at first i thought it might be stress, but maybe it's a nutritional imbalance? any thoughts

from where did you get him? these kind of things are common in cup bettas at chain stores...

Maybe some vitachem would help! and garlic juice in the water

2 of mine have curly regrowth, Rose told me it was from nitrite i think. They are both fine but CURLY!!!!!! very cute!!! So long as he has clean water etc i'm sure he'll be ok!

oh i upgraded from a 2 gal to a 10 (all i can afford) in 3 days not exactly MTS but i guesss i have a minor case

My Lemon's fins were curly when i first got him. granted he was in 1.5" of water in a dirty cup with no lid or nothing. now their straigtening out and lots of new fin growth now that he's a happy healthy boy.

I upgraded from 10 to a 55 in just over a week. As soon as that one's stocked and I don't have to mess with it (just watch) I want to start another 10 as a nano reef. I already have the perfect place picked out, and then maybe a 5 gallon hex in the kitchen...

Curls like that aren't uncommon with the Bettas and if there are no other symptoms, then it just sounds like fancy fin and isn't a concern. But either way, garlic is good for him.
