Too gorgeous!

How I wish for an extra tank to put him in. Most bettas I think are pretty but he is just down right gorgeous. Love the coloring on him and the way the white in the tail looks like a hand held fan.

Beautiful, beautiful fish. If they weren't overcharging for priority shipping, I'd probably buy the little guy (I do have an empty tank right now).

I don't have an open tank but I could buy one tomorrow......I will never pay that kind of money again to ship a fish...Barney is seriously the most gorgeous fish in my home and he came from PetCo....Go figure lol

I'd pay 15$ for the shipping but I don't have the money to get another tank, filter, heater etc for him. But man do I want him.

I should say that my problem with the shipping is not that I can't afford it. It's more of a kneejerk reaction against people who charge way more than the shipping actually costs. It's just a personal foible.

It's probably a good thing that you don't have a tank and I don't feel like paying the shipping, or we'd be in a nasty little bidding warover the little guy.

I think all of her beta babies tie! She has the most beautiful bettas I have ever seen. I swear, one of these days I am going to drive all the way to Arizona just to get bettas from her PetCo!!! MM, can you sense a tad bit of jealousy?

Awwwww shucks you guys! Yes, Patron is the most beautiful here.....And so is Will and Dunn and Kix and Lenox and Crush! lol They are all beautiful to me...I guess the point I was trying to make was Patron was $40.00 and Barney was $5.99 ...I think you can find nice quality Bettas anywhere as long as you have an eye on what to look for...

Nah, I couldn't afford to make it in a bidding war. I'd just be happy to know he went somewhere good. Some day, when my 3.5 kids are out of the house, I'll be able to go into a bidding war over a fish... maybe.... that's only 18years and 3.5 months (minimum) away.

Or you can get bettas with the excuse of them being pets for your kids

Zeph is the Aquabid seller from which I bought Candi. He seems very reputable. I don't think he over-charged on the shipping, considering the care in which he packaged and shipped her. It was also nice to communicate with him. Unlike with local and chain-stores, I know a lot about Candi's history, her parentage, etc. He's a breeder as well as a shipper within the U.S., not just a trans-shipper.

I know this is controversial, but I would much rather spend a few extra bucks to support a reputable breeder who cares about their fish -- and I think Zeph is one of them -- than to "rescue" fish from places such as WalMart -- who will replace their death-cup fish at the rate they're bought. Write to Zeph. He'll respond with lots of details about the fish you're interested in. You'll see how much he cares about his fish. I sent him a pic of Candi a couple of months ago and he genuinely loved seeing his "baby" all grown up!

The cost of the fish and shipping is so much less than cost of proper aquarium setup, and while I see how people get great, great, beautiful fish at places like Walmart, I honestly don't understand why people support them.
