They are lucky the bettas have any fins left with those tetras. They are notorious fin nippers and have been known to shred the bettas fins and since the betta does not see them as threats they will sometimes just let them do it. I would not be comfortable putting them together. The only tetras I have heard that really do well with bettas are the Cardinal Tetras and this is for no reason I am aware of.

That's why I was so surprised.... I haven't even had any luck keeping a betta and a pleco, Mr Bowie just did NOT like having another fish of ANY kind near him... and don't even think about tetras, he would kill them instantly. I've also heard they're nippers. Maybe it would be a different story with females.

I'd just be impressed by a shop treating the Bettas right, each in their own small tank.
