That's weird, Dunn must be a young guy. Felix is actually getting red streaks in his tail...At first I thought it was blood, but realized his tail is getting longer.
I am so paranoid.

Yes Allie, Dunn was a very young boy when I got him...He was very small...I have watched him mature into something amazing....

Thanks Martinismommy Dunn sure is beautiful. I can't wait to see what our boy ends up looking like...they do look alike. Kind of funny how the one I picked out looks like your boy, I just really liked his coloring, and he has such a great personality already.

I love ALL Bettas but will have to say that Dunn captured my heart in that cowboy hat!! Back on topic....Darlene your little Neptune is a darling and he is named after my favorite planet...that gaurantees him a spot in my heart. He is going to be a lucky boy to have you for a mommy I just know it. Congratulations to you both.

As Rose mentioned, a discolouration on his head is nothing to worry about. Betta scales are actually transparent and grow directly from their skin in a sort of "shingled" formation. The skin underneath the clear scales is where their colours come from (so you won't see a problem with the scales just because the colour is different in places). All of my bettas have smooth "bald" little heads.

He's really a handsome boy! I love the gunmetal & violet combo... so nice.
