Is this healthy?

Hi, all I feed Tom (my betta) is freeze-dried bloodworms becuase he rarley touches any flake food that i give him. Should I be feeding him something other than bloodworms to vary his diet or is this ok? thanks for the help.

There are betta pellets you can get. Basically like mini cichlid pellets. Try those.

My boys get bloodworms, hakari pellets, brine shrimp and baby peas peeled and cut up into tiny peices..They seem to be doing very well with this combination...They do NOT eat flake food..All it really does is polute your tank...

I agree with MM...all of those things are GREAT for bettas..but be prepared, some of my boys will NOT eat the pellets...I think they got too spoiled on the bloodworms and shrimp..and also, flake food will constipate your lil man...so try hard to get him off that...a few days of fasting and I bet he likes the other things...especially frozen bloodworms...they love them!

I would recommend either frozen hikari bloodworms or freeze-dried hikari bloodworms soaked in tank water (or better yet, Vita-Chem or Garlic Guard). Hikari freeze-dried Daphnia is something even our most picky Betta would eat. Ocean Nutrition's Betta pellets are pretty good and sometimes a few pellet sized pieces of a thawed & peeled frozen pea makes a tasty meal for them.
