Well criminy, I think he's doing better. He is now at the top of the tank, and staying in one spot, but...
He's hovering under his own power and...
He's built a little bubble nest in the Q-tank.
I'm torn over whether or not to feed him. If I do, it will be a bit of pea soaked in vitachem and garlic juice. I just don't know. Because I couldn't tell if he was bloated, I don't want to feed him if he's just getting over a really bad bout of constipation.
Anyway, I'll be doing a water change tonight and adding the next round of Parasite Clear.

I didn't want to get out of bed today because I was afraid of what I'd find.

Good to know he's feeling better today. I heard peas can stop constipation, so I don't think that would be a worry.

Well, the feeding thing is a moot point. He still won't eat, even if it's soaked in garlic.
So he just won't be eating today. If it's parasites, that will probably help him clear them out of his system, anyway.

Good luck, keep us posted on his progress! Have you got any pics, BTW?

It sounds like the way Marty has been acting and I have fed him nothing but freeze=dried daphnia and he is eating just one time a day but I have to really coax him to the top. He likes to sit and watch me from the front corner on the floor of the tank and I have to really coax and knock on the tank (I don't like to do it but this is all that works) to make him swim to the top but once he gets there he stays and eats and will stay up there and swim for a long time.

Chickadee, where do you get your freeze-dried daphnia? I can't find it. I searched Drs Foster and Smith and all that came up were a mix and a frozen daphnia (would work well, but I can't afford the $20 shipping). The local stores that I've been to so far don't have it, either.

some people may think this idea is crazy and stupid but hay it worked for me, i had a betta in my 60 gallon community tank and he started doing exactly the same as yours, so i bought one of those fry net things that hang on the edge of the tank in the water, and i put him in that so he was closer to the surface of the water and he survived, but sadly he died around 3 months later of old age i believe. get BETTA soon sun ce!

Thanks. I didn't think to check in the reptile section.
Edit: Hooray! A local reptile store carries it. Sun Ce still doesn't seem to be interested, but it's floating right in front of him (I was moving it around a bit, but the movement was causing him to slide off of his perch, and I want him to be able to easily reach the surface if he wants, so I just let it be)
