Naughty Copernicus

So I bought a ghost shrimp for my betta "cap" yesterday. They had a stand off for about 5 min and then seemed to ignore each other. Today when I got home from work I kept looking for the little shrimp. Eventually I found the head of the thing at the bottom of his tank. Cap ate him! silly boy!
Well thats all fine, im just worried because his belly looks BIG from what I've ever seen. He definitely will not be eating tmrw! I just want to make sure that this wont be a problem that I should be doing something about.

I'd probably fast him a couple days and then feed him 3 pellet-sized pieces of frozen pea, thawed and peeled 2x a day for a couple days and return to his regular feeding schedule. Watch for any signs of new bloating.

I would go one further and keep him on the pea diet until his tummy goes back to normal size even if it is for a week. It will not hurt him and he needs to be back to total normal size before he goes back to any betta food. Then start him back very slowly as he will be very prone to constipation. And please no more shrimp. They are given baby brine shrimp for first food and so they see shrimp as DINNER.

Yes, , he is a very naughty boy and don't tell him we are laughing! Tell him we are very upset that he did that. He needs to feel bad about it. Naughty little Cap!

Yea, that's why we can't put some cherry shrimp in the Betta tanks. I wish we could, they'd clean the tanks of algae for me.
