Oh my goodness! Those are just about the loveliest Bettas ever! Do you know when they're arriving, and are they're tanks set up yet? I can't wait for an update.

Thanks guys! Im going to be breeding them after I get them I have been looking for some nice blue mable HMPK bettas for a long time. I cant wate!!!!

As for tanks I will be picking up some next week probably a 5g or 2. I cant have the 2 females in with each other so they will be in a divided 5g tank.

I have a 10g for breeding and grow out as well as a 20g tub for grow out.

The fish will be in in a month .....

breeding takes tons of space and thousands of dollars ..but I wish you well...when are the new ones coming?

Edit: oops I saw your edit.in a month they will be there...you should get 2 5 gallons for your girls...they are pretty cheap and much more room for your gals to grow...

and heres a GREAT link on beta breeding that everyone should read before breeding http://www.flippersandfins.net/bettabreedingarticle.htm hope that helps give you an idea how difficult it is

Those are some very beautiful Bettas!

For breeding this type of Betta, you'll want a 55g tank, up to 500 large jars, 3 10g tanks and about a dozen quarantine/hospital tanks to start off with. Budget around $2,000 and at least 6 hours a day, and the project will need it's own room to set up everything including a space heater to keep the water at the right temp in all the jars.

CoBetta and shawnie, I am well aware of the time and money nedded in breeding Bettas. This will be my second time (fist one did not go as planed... )breeding bettas. I have almost every thing already for the actual spawn, I have all my live foods lined up, frozen and freeze dried foods.

I dont need a 55g.... im not planing on having 500 bettas at the momst ill have some were around 200 as i will be pulling the female before they are done spawning (all the eggs are out) This way I am limiting the number of fry and so i dont cull any. (I have a no Cull policy where i ony cull when they are very sick or very crooked backed).

Their coloration is pretty. I do not personally care for the shortfinned bettas very much, but I do understand there are those who favor them. I hope you have good luck with them.

I never meant that you weren't aware..everyone wants to breed betta's as they are such an awesome fish to have...and seeing how most other fish are relatively easy, I just thought I would give you that link to read on....im not sure why your first time around wasnt successful, and I do hope the second will be better for you...certainly no one is telling you not to breed, its your choice...I just thought the extra info might be of use and more knowledge and information is always a plus when breeding any fish

That is true

The fry that I got from my first spawn were very week. I think there was a problem in the genetics that i was not aware of till after I breed them. Me and a frined trached my problems to a couple diferent posibilities....

But this time will be diferent
