The lovely CT in my sig was actually saved from a Petco cup... shhh, don't tell anyone.

Edit: you beat me with the shrimp question. Shrimp are betta's natural prey... that shrimp will probably look more like dinner than a potential flatmate to your betta.

The first food a Betta is given is Baby brine shrimp. When the shrimp molts, it looks a lot like a BBS. The result is yummy fish food and unhappy shrimp!

That stinks. Yea, unfortunately the amano shrimp would end up as dinner, most likely.

Allow 2.5g for your Betta and 2g for each otto, so 3-4 would be the most I'd put in a 10g tank with a Betta.

I have a dwarf frog with my betta. I have a hard time getting a betta comfortable in a large tank. They go insane when i put them in a 10g, even a 5g! I'm having success with 2.5g.ANYWAYS, be warned if you're getting ottos, they need a mature tank and take your time acclimating them, I hear the drip methodworks best. Pick out an otto that looks kind of fat, cause that's a healthy otto. as for food, don't bother with algae discs, they wont touch them. Feed them zucchini or spinach or grow your own algae. Once you get past the first month, they're actually reasonably hardy fish. Good luck.
