If only I had a camera =) But after working out the massive sickness issues in my tank, I was finally ready to start thinking about putting a betta into my tank. So I just happened to be on the right end of town, and my wonderful husband just happened to be in the right mood, and I just happened to look oh so very cute, and the Perfect little girl just happened to be there. What was I to do?? She has come home with me

So now I have this tiny little girl, getting ready to go into my 10g tank with two very happy cory cats. She is little, just barely and inch, very light blue and probably some green metalic, hard to tell since she is still just a bit freaked at being moved all the way across town and still in her cup with weird things happening with her water. But I couldn't see any signs of fin rot, her fins were up, and her face just said, "I'm too cute to pass up, Take me home, You know you want to." and I just couldn't resist.

Congrats...I just got a new girl to ...she is very tiny like yours only a smidge bigger than my neon tetras...are all girls that small or are these ones just very young??

They're very young. They'll sell females younger than males since they don't wait as long for finnage to develop and the faster they move them out to stores, the less they spend on them.

yes the females they have been selling have been very young lately and are very tiny. It is perhaps because they are trying to cut down on the maintenance they are wanting to have to do for them. They can get along at the age of about 2 months if they have to and I am beginning to wonder if they are not beginning to send them out at this age instead of waiting the full 3 to 4 months that they used to.

I think they are, because they've gotten so much smaller in the past year.
