Bargain page.

It costs a lot to keep our "kids" happy and healthy. Fish tanks, water heaters, conditioners, medications... Get ready to open your wallets really wide!

What do you think about posting tips to help new and not so new Betta owners to save a few bucks?

1. Drs. Foster and Smith website still accepts coupon 11318418 ($5 off any purchase). It will help to keep s/h down.

2. Petsmart ALWAYS matches it's own website prices (they are cheaper. In store price for 50 w stealth heater -$29.99, on line - $16.99), and also Petco, Walmart prices. Take advantage of that.

3. Petco.com still has Marineland Eclipse Hex 5 Fully Integrated Aquarium Kit for $29.99. Great price!

4. Petco.com still has Bookshelf Aquarium Kit for $39.99. Great!

5. Walmart has a kit of 3 silk plants for $5.12.

6. Walmart.com has Eclipse System 6-Gallon Aquarium Kit for $49.97.

Let's help each other!

Second hand tanks and acessories are good too. Just make sure you clean/sterilize them out well and ask the previous owners if they had any illness issues in that tank.

Petsmart will accept coupons from anywhere online, even Amazon.com. So if you can find it most anywhere online cheap, they should match it.

Check out www.fish.com too. Their prices are great. For example, the small azoo filter is only $4.99 there. I'm pretty sure it's $13 at Petco. If you find something for less somewhere else, they will beat that price too. Shipping is free for an order over $50. I placed an order, had to call it in because for some reason it wouldn't go through on line. It was shipped within 24 hours. They don't have the largest selection but what the do have is priced very well.

The 5 gallon hex tanks are also sold at Walmart for $29.99. It is a different brand " Aqua Tec" ..but is the EXACT same tank. They are super quiet too. I have 2 of them.

This is a great thread to have stickied. Wonderful responses with links to great deals and prices. I think that this can be very helpful for everyone buying new supplies for their tanks!

Rid Fungus Found At Last!!!

We have been hearing about Rid Fungus from Dave for a long time and it is not available on any of the usual places to go for fish supplies that I have recommended but today I found it.

It is available at Petsmart.com (no booing please) as Pond Rid Fungus but it says it is for use in freshwater and saltwater aquariums too. So here is the link to it and may your fish with fin and tail rot and other fungus problems now have a better and easier time getting over the problems.

Hi Rose,
I have found the jungle lab, Rid Fungus sold at my local Petsmart store. Im surprised that its not available where you are. API makes Fungus Cure, which is a great one too. Also sold at Petsmart for those that like to use that product as well.

Great news: Petsmart stores do match every price! Today I brought a Drs Foster & Smith catalog to a Petsmart store and got items from the store with DFS low prices (one example: 4 oz Rid Fungus for $3.49, was $6.49 in the store)! Nice people from my Petsmart said to me:"Just bring any ad or catalog and we will match the price."
