It took ALOT of pic taking BUT finally managed to get some half decent ones.

I know pics have a sticky but posting here as want you opinion on 'the fish with no name' Is it male or female?? It has started to fill out and there MAY be a tiny egg spot starting to show but fish less than an inch long and zips about VERY fast!! So ideas and ideas on a name pls!! Pics of it aren't brill because of the speed it shifts!!

Other one 'Sleepy' is far from sleepy now he has a family, a crazy sweet Red loving the attention!!

Thanks guys, i think it is a Plakat. In the 'female fighter' tank with all the other females i was sure it was male from the behaviour and no egg spot visable but as IT is filling out i am not sure, may well be female!! Has a chunky girl type tummy but then so does Sky and he's def male!!

I'm thinking of calling it Sapphire, then Saph if a male, Sapphie if a girl!! A sweet fish any sex.

The Red 'Sleepy' is a dream, a real little dude!!!

Your Plakat reminds me so much of Allie's Prince and Shawnie's mufasa! I'm starting to take quite a fancy to those Plakats myself. Although Prince and mufasa turned out to be boys, my bet is that yours will turn out to be a girl. That's just based on his/her body shape. Certainly not a definitive conclusion, since the males can have a bit of rounded tummies, and females sometimes don't. But your new baby looks like a curvy girl to me. It'll be interesting to see what does ... or doesn't ... develop in the way of oviposter. Either way, she/he is just beautiful.

I also love your red, but he's gotten enough glowing compliments already that I don't need to gush about how gorgeous he is!

You did a nice job with the pics. It does take a lot to get a photo of the fish looking at you while showing off the rest of his body and finnage!
