This is the betta (with female) I am getting from Miami Aquariums. Yeah, this is going to be my first attempt at breeding, so any pointers anyone cane give me would help. I have researched about it, so I know the basics.

I've never tried, but all I can say is be VERY CAREFULL!!!!!!!!!!! if you put the female into the breeding tank and she isnt ready or he isnt ready, or if he is to ready, or if he just feels like it, Shes a gonner. That male will kill her in a minute.

I can't comment on the breeding, I don't know anything about it, other than what I've read here nor have I ever had the inclination to breed them.

I know that bettas are one of the most expensive fish to breed, as the kids will eventually each need their own space.

It's only expensive if they have a lot of fry which must people don't. Most breeders I have been talking to keep the females in a sorority, a large one 29g+. You can make homemade dividers to divide a tank in smaller section for the fry too.

Yes I am going to try and get a deal with my lfs that I will give them the unwanted fry for free if they guarentee to keep them in humane conditions
