Interesting last couple of days

My girlfriend is going to be spending a while with her parents and I was finally able to figure out how to get Deuce, my betta, and his loyal BN pleco, Jeeves, to fit into my tiny apartment. Despite all precautions, the cycle was lost. Yeah, that really, really sucked, but it is already returning back to normal. On top of that, what was a very mild and almost completely healed case of fin rot broke out into something not so mild, I suspect due to stress caused by the move/cycle lost. He is doing better, but I'm still not happy about it one bit.

On the plus hand, I have some new goodies for him and Jeeves. Got some fish protector (finally), vita-chem, and an air pump with a bubble wand. At first Deuce was freaking out about it but then he found a plant particle to chase, played in the extra current, and was having a blast until he went to sleep.

Ha, I guess the fish protector/vita-chem really came through to me at the right time, huh

Bless the little plant particle that distracted him. It probably saved you from a very upsetting evening. They can get very upset with changes, but when the stress wears off the problems may subside. Please do keep us informed of his progress. We do care.

Well, the air pump has been in there for oh, 12 hours or so now. I moved it into a corner to prevent it from causing too much of a stir around the tank. However, I put it in the wrong corner....Deuce is over there playing in it, trying to eat the bubbles!!! He also keeps swimming into the flow, riding it to the top, and repeating. He's not showing any signs of stress....he's eating and his colors are all normal. Maybe before long he'll leave the bubbly corner and play somewhere where I can see him more, haha!

Ahhh you have a bubble betta. There are some bettas that hate bubbles, but some absolutely love them, you might want to move the wand where you can see him play because if not you will never see him again.

Yep, he's been hanging around it all day....I did, though, decide to buy a...uh....valve thingy to turn it down a bit. Now he's laying over it as if he's getting a massage.

LOL.. They really love those bubbles and Deuce sounds like he's one of the bettas that bubbles are meant for. Our Mickey has been having fun sitting by the wand eating bubbles too.. they're such funny characters, huh?
