It's an avatar but i was told if it had been a dark blue eye it would be exactly like my left eye too! I can't see that but i love eyes, i draw them all the time when i doodle but in real life as a nurse they are my phobia!!! A man asked me to help him take out his false eye to wash it and i shook, almost fainted and had to leave him saying i am sooo sorry but i can't. Shameful!!!

Don't worry, Michelle, I was a nurse for 27 years and we all have our little phobias. Mine was that I absolutely could not watch someone throw up without doing it myself. Horrible thing to handicap you when you are a nurse!!

Wait how can someone be a nurse and not be able to see someone sick?

Dr's and nurses are human too!!! i know sooooo many that hate the sight if blood never mind the other things we see and smell. The contents of an iliostomy bag gets me every time, i can manage to get to the sluice before i throw up!!!. However my love for caring for my patients keeps me going. Ok i may be really odd but i LOVE horrid wounds and sores!! I'm sure you get me Rose!!!

I couldn't be a vet nurse though.... that would break my heart!

I have a stomach of steel. I live on a farm, and when I was little we would go and watch the vet treat twisted stomachs, the process included cutting a cow open and pulling out its stomach, then snoving it back in.

oh blah yakky. I could watch that on a human no problem but not an animal. I hate their fear and not being able to tell them all is ok.

Okay surgery and birth and all that is nothing and we all have things that we can handle but some of us cannot take some of it. You do it but it does get to you after a while. This is why it is always a good idea to have more than one of us around. If the one cannot do it chances are the other can. Life is funny that way, none of us is any more than human.

I adored my job but would have been much better at an emergency room job than a floor nurse. I functioned better under a lot of pressure than during the common everyday situations. Right now I do pretty well just being an old retired person and being home and being a betta mommy to the betta babies and keeping them in line the best I know how. That is about all I can handle at present.

Oh, I've had one before, but I was afraid to post it because I was new, and I was afraid that everyone would say he was ugly, or ordinary or something like that. His name was Curly, and you can see pics of him in on my profile page fishy album.

He's not ugly, besides, there is NO such thing as an ugly beta!! LOL!

I can't get a good pic of my own and mine are just mutts (saying that with the utmost love) from Wal-Mart (of all the awful places to buy a betta) so I don't put up very many pics either. But I do love looking at everyone elses!!

LetDiceFly told me how to take good pics of fish, What happens is atomatically focusing cameras have trouble focusing up close, so you take broad photos of the whole tank and later you just zoom into the fish on the computer, that way the fish is in focus.

Both of my bettas are from walmart, I always feel the urge to rescue them.

The problem is I go to walmart and see the poor bettas in the cups and my heart wrenches and I just cant leave them there to die! so I buy them, and in my mind it is money well spent.
