Tail and Finnage Classes in Bettas

http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/bett...ilfinforms.php

I ran across this while looking for some information in the Search Box on the Web. It is an article that really gives comprehensive information about the different fin types of the bettas and even says something about the new Feathered bettas that we spoke of that Teddy Bear is. (Dave and Stacy's little guy)

It seems that it is a type of offshoot of the Rosetail but a very desirable one. It is developed to help with the problem Rosetails have of their fins collapsing. I do know that this is a problem due to the massive weight that the fins seem to develop compared with the fish's body mass and the ability of the fish to manuever through the water with the finnage.

Yeah, it would be nice if the girls were included for people like me who can't really tell the differance. I'd love to know exactly what type Faye and Winry are but I can't get any clear pictures of either to ask

I will see if I can find some information on the ladies.

I personally have had:

A Doubletail Halfmoon Female
A Halfmoon Female
A Crowntail Female
A Cambodian Crowntail Female

The thing with the ladies is that they vary a lot with the length of the finnage. A few that I have seen could rival the males on the size and beauty of their finnage, others have very short and stubby little fins. BUT I have never seen one that I did not think was not totally and thoroughly beautiful.

http://www.ppaquarium.com/view.asp?page=TE606 Female Doubletail

http://www.ppaquarium.com/view.asp?page=TE713 Female Halfmoon

The one type I did not have luck finding was a Female Veiltail but that should be no problem as this is the common female that we do see the most of in the LFS today even yet. I do want to thank the people at P & P Aquariums for the lovely information that they posted to the net. While it is posted mostly for their customers, I did feel that we could garner the information we needed from it and admire the lovely fish at the same time.

I hope this helps with some of the questions about the lovely lady bettas that we are accumulating on our forum.
