New Bettas: Buddy and Polly
As some of you already already know, yesterday when I went to Petsmart to get a couple of things, I ended up coming home with two bettas. I put the female cambodian Polly into one of my 29 gallon tanks, and the male Buddy is in my 2.5 gallon tank. Buddy is old and I know that I may not have him for long, but I just felt so bad for him in his little cup. He is huge and he couldn't even stretch out all the way. Well here they are! Let me know what you think

Congratulations on the great save. Buddy is a beautiful pink colour....my little Casey was scrunched into his cup also and is still trying to work the bend out of his tail! Even if he is older, he will give you lots of smiles and happiness I am sure.
Polly is pretty lady too, and I know will be so happy with you.
I hope you find lots of happiness with them, they are such little loves!!

Here is a better pic of Buddy. When I took the pics this morning the tank was still new to him and he wasn't really spreading his fins. By tonight he was swimming around happily and flaring from time to time. I was able to get a better shot this time.

Hi NBFL
Your buddy is gorgeous! Love his coloring and the 'hint' of blue at the tail/body section. BEAUTIFUL!
btw.. A healthy betta ( I believe) can live 3-4 years at best. Normally at least three years. Even if your guy is around 6 months old.. which for some reason I doubt it. I think they go up for sale at around 3 months of age, you have a loooong way to having Buddy around for a long time! Buddy looks healthy and happy, good luck with him.

Your fish are so beautiful and so nicely kept. I think that even if Buddy is a bit older he still deserves to be special to someone. It was so lovely of you not to pass him by on account of this. You must be a very special person.
(I love the name Kate. My mom has always told me that if she had her way I would have been Kate instead of Rose. I do like my name but for some reason Kate has always been a special name to me too.)

Thanks Kate! That's good to know. I hope that I do a have a long way to go with him because he has already become my favorite. You should have seen me trying to get a picture of him. I wanted a good shot of him from the side, but everytime I approached the tank with the camara he would swim up to the front to greet me lol!

Thanks Rose!
My name is actually Katie, but my family and those close to me have always called me Kate. My middle name is Marie, so my parents and my grandparents always call me Kate Marie. I used to not like it, but as I have grown up I have learned to appreciate it. It was always frustrating in school because there were so many Kates and Katies in the class I felt like my name was to common. I think that Rose is a beautiful name also. Roses are my favorite flowers, and I think that the name is equally beautiful
