Tap water treatment

When I had my Betta in a 1 gallon bowl I used fish bowl buddies tablets to dechlorinate tap water. Now I have 3 gal tank and those buddies are not useful. I have checked another water conditioners at a pet store. My problem, all of them have directions for at least 5-10 gal tanks. How do I calculate how much to add for my tank and what brand is the best to treat tap water? Thanks.

What I'd recommend is that you get a bottle of Prime. You can also get a small dropper bottle (like the empty travel bottles for shampoo). 1-2 drops of Prime per gallon does the trick.

You do not have to be exact. Usually one cap full treats 10 U.S. gllons. So try to fill the cap to about a third. As I have stated before you do not have to be exact, if you add a little more it will not harm the fish.

As Dave said, Prime is the way to go. It works wonderfully.

Is it that one? http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...earch&keepsr=1
It is good to know that I do not need to be exact. I was afraid to add too much/little.

Yes. The Prime I have comes out in drops instead of needing measurements to make it nice and easy. Seems to be lasting quite a while too.

It does? What size is it? The bottles that we have just have screw-off caps on them, no dropper. I hope that's a new thing - all liquid products should have it.

I just got a little syringe from the pet shop - it's fantastic because it has the measurements on it, down to 0.1 ml - so I love that... 90 cents. Woot. We only have the screw cap ones here too.

I've never even seen prime in stores here. I just use stress coat.
