Your opinion pls?!

Well treating Sky for nasty finrot with 'Sera baktopur' i was nervous to try it BUT so far am pleased. DON'T wish to say too much and tempt fate!!!

My question is in the info leaflet it says

DAY1...treatment
DAY2 ...no treatment but vitamins....ok
DAY3....treatment............

i'm on day 4, he has had vits but what do you think re tomorrow I have searched the products website for help/advice but found none.

I'm thinking a 25% water change, wait a day then maybe start treating again?? OR should i carry on His tank is full of algea and the meds that are green make it look worse, my gut feeling is a good clean out of tank and then if needed, more meds.....

Would you carry on the '3 day' prog from the leaflet?

Very small print(touch/knock on wood) fins no better but have not decayed any since meds!!

I know that at the end of the day it is my call BUTi'd love to hear your thoughts!! TY

How bad is the fin rot, is it just around the edges or is his tail like gone?

It's a mess. Split, rot on the edges but meds seem to have halted the attack.

Give the tank a good clean and repeat the treatment. My standard answer in treating finrot is to treat until the regrowth is started and pretty much accomplished. That means a few rounds of meds. Of course it means no more than 2 weeks on meds and then a week off with good clean water and extra clean tank conditions for that week too. Then back on the meds if the rot is still present for 2 more weeks with the cycles done like you are doing. Do a regular cycle and a partial water change and then another for a total of 2 weeks and then a week off and so on.

Am I making sense? After a couple of these then take him off the meds and use only clean water and Vitamins treatment until the regrowth is finished but protect him from rapid water movement and hard filter flow. Like get a sponge filter if possible or put a baffle on the filter outflow.
