I don't personally breed Bettas due to lack of room (but I will..I will...) and I was at my
LFS the other day. i talked to the manager about the bettas she sold, and she told me an interesting trick that I would like to post on here.
She told me that if you take an old oil lamp, and take the glass top off of it (the part that protects the flame). Set the glass into your breeding tank, put the male in the tank, and the female into the glass top. This allows the female to breathe air through the open portion of the tube. Let the male circle the female and make his bubblenest all the way around the glass tube. When the male is done, release the female.
I'm not sure how well this works, but it sounds interesting enough!
