Maybe a spawning sucess? Any advice appreciated

Hi, I am new to breeding bettas, this is my first attempt, I was just wondering what is the best way to see if there are eggs in the nest... other than waiting a few days for fry? I am pretty sure that my babies have eggs but am not 100%
Do bubbles that have eggs in them hang a little lower than ones that do not? Any advice would be appreciated.

Btw they are in roughly a 7gallon tank half filled, not heated as the temp in Australia keeps the tank temp at and above 80 even at night during summer, all the water tests are normal, and they have been conditioned with blackworms and brine shrimp.

Looking down onto the bubble nest (as much as possible using the cup method) there seem to be a few "cloudy" sections, this plus him being very protective and maintaining his nest for once, is what is making me think that there may be eggs.

Step by Step guide to breeding Bettas

Hello Damprye,
See if the two links above will help you. They are interesting if nothing else. I don't have personal experience with breeding Bettas. I'm sure you'll get responses before too long.
Best of luck and please keep us posted.

when my bettas laid eggs I could see white spots (those are the eggs) fall out of the nest and my male would go and pick them up like crazy.
The eggs hang off the bottom of the bubble nest.
