Eggs hatch early

Ok so tell me if this is unusual. I breed my betta's yesterday. Or should I say they spawned yesterday. The eggs hatched today already! I'm wondering if it's because the temp in the tank water is 82-84F. I know that is very high but I didn't realize it was that high until today. I put one of those little stick on thermometers on the outside of the tank. The last batch of fry I had it took two days for them to hatch. So what do you all think?

Wow. I have no idea if that's possible, I just came here to beg you for some pictures. I've never seen betta fry. Congrats on the success!

Right now they are just shards of glass. Won't show in a picture. I'm not that good with the camera but when they get a little bigger I will try to get some pics.

24-48 hours is normal range for hatching...The higher the temp in the spawn tank the quicker they hatch...

Good luck!

OK thanks. That's kind of what I figured. Hie's still blowing them into the nest. They haven't become free swimming yet. I'm so nervice though I want to catch him to take him out before he eats them once they do. I keep checking him about every two seconds.

How's the brood doing? Did you take the Dad out? Who are the parents on this spawn?

The parents are two veil tails I rescued from the pet store. Yes I took the male out but I think during the night he eat most of the babies. All I can see if I squint my poor old eyes is about three of them. I don't have a filter running in the tanks so the water gets a scum on top so I carefully did about a 45% water change and I have a batch of infusoria going that I'm feeding them right now.

The father eat them over night last week before I got a chance to get him out. But there are about 3-4 left. So I'm nursing them along. Hopefully they will survive.

They are just little slivers right now so my camera won't take a good picture. With my old eyes I have to use a magnifying glass to even find them.LOl

The last batch I got from them I got some really pretty lavender colored ones. As you know red and blue makes purple. And some really pretty males with big blue fins with red running through them. I'll try to get some pictures of them.

This one is the little runt from the same batch. I just didn't have the heart to cull her. She's so dang cute but teeny tiny. I've been nursing her along.

I love seeing all the different colors you can get from one pair.
