Heating prob

As i mentioned earlier..I live in Moscow...I mention this coz it gets really cold during winter..I have a 12litres aquarium...I tried to get a heater for my tank..but the salesgirl told me that they only had large heaters and that they were not suitable for my tank. My bettas have just spawned. I ve been reading lots of threads and i realised that the temperature maintenance is essential for survival of the fry. I basically have allowed my bettas to spawn without the heater. Will the eggs survive? Is it too late to put in a heater now if i manage to find one?? The other question is..i ve been reading lots of ppl's suggestion of covering the tank with a plastic wrap...Does that mean that I cover it completely so that no air gets in at all?? pls help...thank u

you'll definetly want a heater. I believe that the ideal temp for spawning and raising the fry would be 81*F. Plastic wrap helps keep the humidity in but leave a corner open for air exchange. If you can't find a heater locally you might want to look online for one.
12L is only a bit more then 3 gals. You'll definitely need a larger tank really quickly. It's too late now but you'll have you hands full with water changes to keep the water clean and allow for the fry to grow.
Again, good luck.
