Babies are getting color!!!

Wow I have what looks to be 4 different looking colors/patterns starting to develop with the fry. I have seen green/gold, just gold, white with red, white with turquoise shimmer, and ones with dark near their red eyes.
ENJOY!

Thanks. Well don't go into it blindly. It's a lot of extra work and money. I researched the process for a year before trying it. I got to know betta as a fish before attempting to breed them.
It's not something a beginner to breeding fish or anyone should try just b/c. My hubby and I are opening our own Fish Hatchery to help supply local fish store with better quality fish. This wasn't a whim at all. We need to experience breeding all species of fish for the business.
Never breed pet store betta either, get them from breeders off aquabid.com or any near you.

That would be interesting to see. I think he/she has the same red eyes as his/her parents tho. It also has red coming near the base of its tail.

Thanks we've been working on it for a year now. Acquiring clients and what not. We'll be specializing in mostly cichlids and goldfish/pond fish. The most popular fish for our area. And Betta when I have some nice ones to sell.

Thanks...me too. There are so many options with their background.
There are between 34-38 including the bigger ones in the 10g. I keep getting those two numbers when I TRY to count the fast tiny little farts. I think by Xmas they will all be big enough for me to actually count with out losing sight of.
Hung the guy I got my breeders from said the ones who make it to the 2 week mark usually are the survivors, if all goes well that is. As long as I keep up the water changes and cleaning out debris I should not have any more losses. I just have to watch the growth of the other bigger fry in the 33g...gotta make sure no one else gets eaten by a sib again.

Thank so much. As you know it is very rewarding to see them progress like this. I have a few that I am getting attached to already..the bigger ones come right up in my face like they do when they are grown. So darn cute.
I know I am so excited to see what they will all look like.

CUTE!!!
I have to say, white with torquoise shimmer is my favorite coloring on bettas. It's what Rodya was, and what Volta is (plus that red on her tail)

There are a few who look like they may have that coloring. Maybe Gracie Jr. will be one of them.

Thanks. It been a lot of work, research, worry and money...but well worth it so far. Hoping to get some nice looking fish out of my batch of fry, to add to my breeding project.
