LOL I keep spilling info unnecessarily, b/c I am just learning the difference. I'm on over load, my bf looks at me like SHUT UP LOL
If these guys don't make babies for me. I will just go back to keeping them as pets. The breeding part is kind of not for the weak heart.

They're all beautiful, Allie, and if you can get them to spawn and the guys are good daddies, you'll have some fantastic babies!

Great names you gave them!

Is Kingston a Rosetail in addition to being a Halfmoon?

I have them in the breeder tank right now. She was is the tank with him, but he got nasty. So I put her back in her jar in the tank. He is going nuts making bubble nests all over the place and showing off for her.
I figure at the rate he is going with the nests, they'll be ready first thing in the am. I am so please with them.

Allie......The getting a little rough is normal.....It is very rare to have a spawn without some rough play....I'd release her again and let them do the chase game....As long as she has places to hide she will be fine.....I hope it all goes good for you this time......I'm excited to hear the words "I have a successful spawn" Yippeeeeeeeee!

Aww I wish I was involved in this breeding circle. None Of My Fish Ever Spawn I am about to try my luck and attempt to breed clownfish. I know they are fairly easy but i am going to do my best to make this time sucesful. Bubble nests are awesome my dwarf gourami made one when i had my FW Tank which guess what I might be getting back. Because i have a spare 100 LITRE tank and i am thinking of maybe a betta tank with a pair of bettas in there. I am sure they will love it in there.

Bettas don't normally want tank mates especially 2 Bettas in one tank. More people than not have tried this, only to have someone seriously hurt or killed.

Allie and Martinsmommy have done tons of research on the time and expense that must be put into Betta breeding. This is not an endeavour to be taken lightly.

Yeah, they are fine now tho. They've been flirting and she is inspecting the nest, which is small but full. They are going to do it eventually I can tell. It's not like it was with Zeus and Hera. She is VERY interested in him.
Hopefully some babies will be around in a few days.

Breeding betta isn't something the regular fish keeper should attempt.
Pairs don't live together. It's quite a task breeding betta. You can spend $1000 at least for your first spawn. Between getting quality fish which can run you anywhere from $20-$50 per fish. Plus grow out tanks, equipment, jars, small tanks, food, meds and the time to be around in case of disaster. This is a time consuming project, a full time job. Betta spawns can be as big as 200-500 babies...so when it come times to separate them you need a whole room just to dedicate to the indidvudal tanks and jars.
So if you don't have experience in breeding fish to begin with I would NOT bother trying betta.
