Aren't some of you using drift wood in your tanks? It seems like I remember the conversation but I can't find the thread. If so, where did you get it, and how do you use it? I have been looking around at my local pet stores and I can only find drift wood 'looking' stuff (not really wood), or huge pieces that would never fit in my small tank. I am trying to do a better job with aqua-scaping and I would love to have a more natural looking tank but still give Jett little caves and such.
I have driftwood in all my 12 gallon tanks and the fish love it. I did not use it in the 25 gallon as when I had it divided it really did not have room, but now I am considering getting some but the fish are so happy with the way it is, I really do not need it.
Pictures of the tanks show that I have algae in all the tanks but I have no algae eaters in two of the tanks and one of them, I am letting the otos have a feast. All the tanks have been cleaned this week but they all sit by windows and the green algae on the stuff gets ahead of me. Just thought I would let you know I really have not been sluffing.
I am also showing pics of the big tank and of the new little boy just because.....
Lucky! I found a great piece of malaysian drift wood at a fish store in north Dallas this weekend. It was a great looking piece on it's own, but too big for my 5 gallon tank. So my b/f sawed it in half at a natural looking place, and now I have TWO pieces of malaysian drift wood! I used the little mouse sander and smoothed all the edges. Now one piece is soaking in a bucket out in the garage. The other piece will have to wait until I have a bigger tank to put it in.
Thanks for the links and aqua scaping suggestions. The pics are lovely.

Not sure if you found your driftwood yet, but I have been searching for some myself. I found alot of them available on ebay, you may want to check that out. I am bidding right now on a piece there. Also Aquabid.com has driftwood available as well. Good luck searching for some, they sure look great in a tank!
Awesome that you found some. Your fish will probably love it. Be sure to watch your fish after you put it in, because it can affect the pH of the water, but I've never seen it cause a big change (I've got two tanks with driftwood in them).
My tap water pH runs high here, I have to use the high range test to get a reading. So if the drift wood lowers it a little I don't think that would matter much to Jett. I would imagine the process would be slow enough not to hurt him?
I asked that question on the forum a while ago and the answer was that it was really gradual. No first hand experience of this, though, as driftwood has never really managed to decrease my pH.
Ok, another question. Will the drift wood eventually get water logged and sink on it's own? It's only been soaking for a couple days, but it's still floating at the top of the bucket. I have a jug resting on top of it and holding it underwater right now...
