i got a betta fish

a purple bluey one in a new cycled 5 g. its so pretty cant wait to figure out tankmates for it. Its right beside the dwarf puffer tank...hes kewl..always wanted one

no i have to get a new camera..hes not that fancy yet (i love his colouring thou) hi tail was pretty messed up, you know what i notice about those little cups htough.. they never have enugh room for the fish to float straight.. im surprised they dont come out crooked..so yea any tankmate suggestions besides regular ld ottos..unless theres different one been curious about the zebra pleco but dont know how big it gets..or a zebra otto?

Zebra Plecos are very rare and cost over $200 if you can find them which is almost impossible. I waited almost a year with a promise of one and then the guy raised the price so much we had to back out of the deal. I am sure he had another buyer and did not want to honor the price he had originally quoted us. You will have to wait many years for one if you ever do find one.

There are MANY types of tank mates. I would recommend Dwarf Loaches if you do not want Otos. They are very active but need to be in a group of at least 2. They are a bit pricey but are worth it if you want to have a fun fish. The more of them you get, the more fun they are to watch. The group of 9 that I have in my 25 gallon is so much fun, I turn off the TV and go lay on the bed and watch them act out. It is so much fun to see them tear about.

Those are cory catfish. Yes, you can have those in the tanks with them. I think they are happiest with at least 3 in a group or more. I don't know what size tank you have.

tell you what, Rose.. if we get can a pair of zebra plecos and mate them successfully, you can hold me to $100 for one.

Of course, i'll have to find a good male and female, research a lot, get all the needed supplies and the money for all that wouldn't hurt.

it is one of my goals to one day get a pair and successfully breed them, then trade stock with other breeders to start establishing some good lines.

lolagurl - you could look for zebra otos. they're pretty cute little otos. i love otos and if you can keep them alive, they're such fun little fish.

Our fish store in The Netherlands sells them for about 50 dollars. Well, he calls them zebra plecos, but I need to check what L number he reckons he has. I was totally thinking of getting one.

if i could get a pair for $100, i'd be quite happy.. but like you said, I'd want to know what L number they were.
