Home sick yesterday

So, yesterday I was home sick with the dreaded Stomach flu. Thank god it only lasted a day. I hate that virus, it's one of the worst. I woke up early with my husband yesterday morning and so I decided I was going to take a morning nap and RJ is in the hosp. tank which is in our room. So, I was laying there in bed watching him swim around. I had put a ping pong ball in his tank about a week ago and as far as I knew he pretty much ignored it, but of course you don't know what they do when your not around. I don't think he knew I was watching him. He knew I was in the room, but didn't know I was watching. So, while watching him I noticed he kept going up to it and stalking it. I got up to move it on him. I put it more towards the middle of the tank to see what he would do. I went back to lay down and he began stalking it again and the hit real hard with his snout and it hit against the wall of the tank. I laughed. I said, " so, you do play with it after all you stinker. " It was so cute to see, but he wouldn't so it anymore after that. He was caught in the act. Natalie

LOL.. i love how they have things they do when they think we aren't looking.. to me, it's part of that 'stinker' label that fits our curious little smarties. Rose's idea of watching them in a mirror is great .

Re: Home sick yesterday

Yes they play but they are notoriously shy and don't want to be seen doing it. They also are little stinkers when they KNOW we want them to do something.

Yes, they are. The only time he isn't shy is when he knows he's getting fed. Then he's practically jumping out of the water trying to get his food. I can never drop it in the water fast enough for him. It's has if he hasn't eaten in days every meal. :P Natalie

Re: Home sick yesterday

I really believe they are reincarnated humans. They think like humans, and react to humans more than other fish and want the approval of humans and could care less whether other fish like what they are doing. They get mad when we do not respond the way they believe we should and pout the way a child would and become depressed if they get hurt feelings, and make no mistake about it, They DO have feelings. Oh, yes, I truly do think they either have been or are on their way to being human.

OOOOOOO!!!!!!

Yes, they are a lot like humans in many ways. You are very right Rose. I believe that too. Sometimes I think he is more entertaining then my dogs. LOL Natalie
