I tried to post this earlier tho cant seem to find the post anyways I have observed something with my Betas I have 2 Betas male female they share a community tank with various other Fish anyways I have a 9" algae eater that likes to eat the males fins even b4 I secluded the Betas and bgan Beta Fix I notice the female mouth feeding the male so I secluded both I now see her still mouth feeding him and as well she swims under him to stimulate him to move it is an amazing site thought I'd share with you all....thx 4 ur time

You really should separate them. They may be ok together at the moment, but Bettas are very territorial and will eventually turn on each other. Your male will probably kill your female eventually. Bettas can not ever be kept together unless you have several young females who were raised together (and even then they may decide to attack each other).

thx i will separate althoug at the moment she is ,,,I know it sounds weird but shes his nurse is beta fix the rite remedy for my male and his damaged fins?

this is strange and like gammerus said male and female bettas are not typically kept together do they get along or do they fight? i am not sure about betta fix because i have never used it - my betta hasn't gotten sick like that.... so i am not sure. hope you can figure this out!! Miley - but ya i would seperate them.

Bettafix contains tea tree oil and that has been proven to be damaging to the betta's labyrinth organ so I would say that there are other medications that would be better. Jungle Labs Fungus Clear Tank Buddies are a good medication for a not so bad case. If it is pretty severe then you will want to go to Maracyn2 or Triple Sulfa. Maracyn2 treats a bunch of things so is a good addition to the betta pharmacy in any case. Welcome to you and your fish.

even b4 he got attacked they got along royally although as I kept them in a community I assumed they were ready to breed so I was gonna put them in a separate tank anyways as he gets better I will remove Mama and then slowly introduce them agn yes Rose answered my ? on Betafix thankyou for your reply take care now....thx 4 ur time....Clint

I thank you for ue reply quiet..quite the story I love all my fish and Bruce is getting better i hope once my new tank is set up and healthy i will post pics of my bettas as well as my other kidz take care...Thx 4ur time....Clint

I will try to get some better pictures of this tank. Maybe I could take a picture of each area? Each area has its own filter that hangs on the back of the tank. Good filtration healthy, happy fish.
