Hi there!* Well, I have a 38 gallon tank with 8 White Skirted Tetras, 3 Pristella Tetras, 3 yo yo loaches, and 1 clown pleco.* I was wondering if I could safely add a male Betta to the mix?* I love Bettas and would like to own one again.

I would LOVE for you to own a Betta...you are such a good mommy and all, but tetras are nippers. I do not know what their fins look like but do they have longish fins. I found the Pristellas and the loaches and Pleco would be fine for the betta but those tetras...

You may be okay since the tank is big but watch close and if they start to harass each other (tetras and betta) you should have a back-up plan. I really want to give a betta a break and have them get a nice mommy like you. I just cannot give any gaurantees.
As I am so fond of saying IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE FISH.

Hi Chickadee! Well, I won't take the chance. All the more reason to buy a new corner tank for my desk! Thanks, thought I would see but I don't want to stress any of the fish.

That is a good idea and he will love being with his mommy all day long at her work. They love to see us work. I have ALL my tanks now so they can watch me. Got the 12 gallon in the living room but not that far from my work area (25 feet or so) and the fish there can watch me. The three tanks in the den are about 8 feet away and they all have Hex5's now...YAY.

I am going to give you a peek at Blaze getting acquainted with the Cories...

Very nice! I do the same thing, all my tanks are in my living room so I can watch them throughout the day. I many times bring my chair right up to the tanks just to watch the interactions! I love the pic with your Betta and cories! Both are great fish, my favorite fish are cories, loaches and the Betta! He stands for pure beauty!

Blaze does not know what they are and he wanted to play with them. They do not understand that he is young and stupid.. ...and they are a bit paranoid about him as yet. It will all work out, but he was so interested in the cories that he wouldn't eat supper!!!
