Betta Fish

Hooray! This is my first time breeding bettas! I am 14 years old and have pretty much used up my whole bank account and year' allowance on buying the proper equipment, but I am finally there. I have around 67 fry swimming around in the tank. Is that good or bad? They are a little over a week old. I will put pictures as soon as the fry are big enough to see through the digital camera

Re: Betta Fish

Thats excellent! Now you have to start collecting individual containers for the males. I think by a month they will start fighting

Re: Betta Fish

Congratulations, that is a lot of fry and since you have the equipment, I am guessing you have done all the research about what they need as far as water changes and all. *I do think you are very brave. *They are very hard to breed and keep alive to maturity. *They are even harder to keep the water quality good enough to make them good bettas with well formed fins and bodies. *If the water is not changed often enough and any ammonia, nitrite or nitrate build up then they can be deformed.. *

But I am happy for you. *And Welcome to all the little fry... *Please do be sure to send us some pictures of your tank when they get big enough.

Thank you for sharing. *Good luck.

I am going to move this to the Betta Forum where those of us who are mostly interested in Bettas can watch your thread.

Mom and dad are beautiful. Do you plan on selling any of the fry when they get bigger? That's a lot of bettas to take on. Natalie

Re: Betta Fish

Yes, I am definately going to sell most of them. I think there is a way you can sell them on ebay, and I'm going to advertize them on all the fish forums that I know.
