Hey everyone,

Its been a while. My computer no longer works so its hard to get on. But I thought I owed it to Satin to inform some of you that had a place for him in their hearts that he passed away yesterday. He had been struggling almost from the day I got him. Bad luck or mistakes made by a novice fishkeeper I'll never know. He was truly a fighter though. With all his problems he was always so full of life and he really brightened up my days. I'm going to miss him.

I'm so sorry to hear about Satin. From what I could tell you did all you could do so don't beat yourself up over it. We all live and learn and Satins memory will help you take care of the next Betta.

I'm so sorry to hear about Satin. I remember that you always did everything you could to help him. At least now he isn't suffering any more. You were a great help to him and I'm sure he was very happy that he add you. I'm sure you will do just as well and give another little betta a great home sometime in the future.

You were a special member of the community and we will miss you.* I do hope that your daddy will come back to us and let us help him with his loss.

I do hope that you will consider getting another Betta as not all of them will be having trouble like Satin was and you can get the tank sterilized and ready for another fish and then at the proper time perhaps get another.* It would be the most appropriate memorial to Satin that you could give to him.* After all, it says that you loved him enough to want to share that love with another of his kind.* I am SO terribly sorry for your loss.* I do hope you post a memorial to him in our Memorial Section.

Thanks guys. We'll see what happens in the future. Right now I dont know whether I could deal with another loss like this one. He was my first fish. And my favorite.

I'm sorry about Satin too. It's very hard to lose an intelligent and playful little creature like a betta that you tried hard to care for and which died so unpleasantly.

However I hope this will be an encouragement: I felt the same way after my betta Darth Pisces died of a very similar condition, and I felt I would never get another one. Rose (Chickadee) encouraged me and I ended up without thinking about it rescuing Rusty from a little cup in a store. He was the only one who was still spirited, who was trying to look around and see what was going on, and I somehow couldn't leave him there to end up dispirited like the others. I'm very glad I did. He's been a handful but he's a wonderful little friend.
