Pre-cut tank dividers?

Hello fish experts!

So, as opposed to breeding our betta's again, I think we would like to "rescue" a few for Christmas. Why create more when there are an over-abundance that already need homes? We have a 10 gallon tank, which seems MORE than enough room for our one boy, who seems to like to hang out in one half of the tank as it is.
Can we buy pre-cut dividers? While my hubby is very handy, good luck getting him to relinquish his weekend relaxation time to do much. Id rather just buy dividers and take care of it myself.
How many would you recommend we keep in one tank, and how many females will happily live together in a divided section? I know they are more peace loving than the males, but not exactly the least aggressive female fish in the world. Im eyeballing the tank, and I feel as if dividing it into three sections will still give everyone plenty of room to be heathy and happy, perhaps two males and a section with two females.
We've got a pretty standard rectangular 10g tank with a heater (which we only occasionally need to use it) and a small, silent filter and lights built into the top of the tank.

Female sororities don't usually end well for anyone. Especially if they've only got part of a tank. If you'd like you could divide the tank into 3 and have a male with a female on either side of vice versa.
There are a lot of threads in the betta forum where betta sororities have been discussed. I'd recommed reading up on them alot if you're still interested in trying.

I've seen dividers in petsmart.

If you do a search on the forum, you'll see it doesn't look that hard to make one.

I have the one Martinismom has, but from Petsmart. I have a male on one side and a female on the other...it does a nice job.

I would recommend keeping your tank level a bit lower with the divider in there, unless you have a perfect lid fit. I had two males in my 10 gal last spring, and when I left for the weekend Sumo managed to jump the divider into Hollywood's tank even though it was an inch about the water line and the gap between the top of the divider and the lid was only about 1/4" wide.

There is also a DIY divider thread on this forum that has great instructions for making your own, just do a search.

I bought a tank divider, planning to put a betta female on each side of a divided 10g tank. Then I decorated & cycled fishless. I decided to remove the divider (so I'll only have one little girl ) because with the filter on one side only, the "crumbs" on the other side don't seem to be adequately removed and it appears that the circulation on the side without the filter is much less. And then it promptly gave a good home to algae on both sides - a cleaning nightmare in the making. My love for open windows means lots of indirect sunlight to my tanks here in Florida. No, I don't want to put 2 filters in a 10g tank. I'll stick to one tank, one betta. This 10g used to be my community, which is now in a 40g.

That tank is so cute Shawnie! That would be a great way to grow out my males..

Catlady..I move the filter from side to side...I rotate every other day...This seems to work..
