Planning ahead.

Well with finals coming up I started to think about what I'm going to do with all my finny friends while I'm gone home for the break (Dec.19-Jan. 3/5). I think that most of my boys and girls will be fine. My boyfriend is staying in the city and willing to fish sit if I need him to, however I've been looking at Mer and I don't know if I want to leave him unsupervised while I'm gone. Not that i don't trust my boyfriend to take good care of him but... I kinda want to keep a special eye on him if he's not 100% when i leave. What do you guys think I should do? He's only in a 2.5 gal tank so taking him home with me wouldn't be a huge challenge but it's a 3 hour ride there and back. Too long and stressful do you think? I've got a few weeks to decide but the idea occurred to me so I thought I'd throw it up here and seeing what you all thought.

I think he would be ok just as long as the tank doesnt bounce aroun to much. If it stays stable then it will be fine He will love the ride.

I think he'll get swished around in the tank too much. You can bag him up and put him in a soft sided cooler sourrounded by newspaper. This should keep his water temp stable.

Put some tank water, filter, decorations and substrate in a bucket so you don't kill off the bacteria.

Transport the tank empty. Moving a tank with water in it can stress the seams and cause leakage.

He'll be a strong little betta by the 19th. You have time to decide and options if you decide not to travel with him.
It's nice that you have your bf to fish sit, I'm sure he'll do a great job.

He owes me (the bf)
I've been baby sitting his betta for over a week now b/c his appartment was being inspected by the landlord. Hopefully Jazz will finally get to go to his permanent home soon.

I know that Mer will probably improve by then but I just thought I get some feed back on the idea.
