heater?

The temperature in Texas has now cooled off and it's time to crank up my heaters, but the heater on my 10g just died. It keeps getting hotter and hotter and does not shut off.

So I'm in the market for a new heater. I'm looking to buy one for my 10g, 5g, and 2.5g. I know I need between 25w and 50w, but I'm just not sure which tank needs what size. Also I've bought a number of heaters, and they don't seem to last beyond 6 months.

What do you recommend?

I like the visi-therm stealth heaters. They fully submersible unbreakable and guaranteed for life.

My 5g has a 50w, 1 of my 10g's has a 50w and my other 10g has a 75w

Visi-Therm Stealth Submersible heaters by Marineland are the best ones. I use 25w ones in my 3 Gal, in an emergency 1 Gal bowl and 50W ones in 6 Gal tanks. You can use 25W in your 2.5 and 5 Gal tanks and 50W in 10 gal.

I second that...The visi-therm stealth heaters are the only ones I use in all my tanks. Never had a problem with any of them...

I third that. Visa-therm Stealth heaters by Marineland are the best! The temp is adjustable, they are fully submersible and I have found them to be very reliable. Plus, they come with a lifetime guarantee as Lucy mentioned. Be sure to save the box/paperwork!

My three-gallon has a 25-watt and six-gallon has a 50-watt. There are only a couple dollars difference in the price, but you don't want to "over-do" it for the tank size.

well to be completely honest i have never heard of "Vise-therm Stealth Heaters" but maybe thats coz i live in aus and not USA. I have a fluval in my 100Litre but my 100Litre is now empty and ready for sale I have an inbuilt heater in my Red Sea Max tank

Fluvals worked very well for me in y FW Tank. It kept the water nice and warm

The Stealth heathers are in Aus...my LFS has just started stocking them....but oh boy are the expensive *L*

I do like the idea of them though, and may look at saving pennies to change my current heaters over to Stealth

If you have Hydor brand heaters, I've found their Theo heaters to be good and believe they're sold internationally.
