Re: Poping eyes i think

There are several reasons for the eyes protruding and the first and foremost is the easiest to detect. Most fish who have this condition seem to have a problem with their water, particularly high NITRATES. This can be taken care of by keeping close track of the water parameters and doing a water change if the levels are high. You should also check the levels of the tap water right out of the tap with no additives to make sure that your water supply is not high to start with. If it is then it will need special measures to correct, otherwise just try a good big water change and see if this helps. These things can happen in newly set-up tanks. If this does not take care of it, it may be a bacterial infection which may be treated with the temperature being raised and perhaps some Melafix. The main thing is very clean water and warm temperatures. One of my books says that this can be the first symptom of Ich so watch for small white salty looking spots. If that happens, then we need to raise the temperature right away to 85 (slowly) and leave it there for 14 days but no medication will be needed.

Let me know how he is doing!

Re: Poping eyes i think

Alright well no white spots but he does have some red showing through kind of odd coloration if u ask me anyway my most recent test is

Nitrates 5 ppm today up from 0 yesterday
nitrites 2 ppm today up from .25 yesterday
ammonia 0 ppm down from .25 ppm yeserday
pH 8.4 up from 8.2 yesterday

I don't want to do a water change after lights out tho so i will have to do first thing in the morning Inari has survived worse than this i know that as a fact

But i will try the water change first thanx
