I could use some advice

I just bought a sweet little boy from petco. I put him in my 2.5 gallon cycle mini bow. I have a plant, a small bridge. He's soo tiny (and feisty lol) and I think the current is too much for him so I put a small glass (shot glass) in there so he has a place to hide. Should i put more stuff in there for more places to hide since i think he may be having a hard time adjusting to the current. I think he's a baby. I'm just concerned and would like him to not get too tired out. Or do you think that it's fine the way it is?

I'm going to post some pics real soon.
Thanks in advance
Dina

Ok here he is

Can't wait to see the new boy!
My bettas have problems with the current too. I took a piece of filter sponge and rubberbanded it to the filter outlet to slow the flow. It works well.

Awww... he's a cutie!!!
I'd give him a few days to get used to the current. I think that the amount of finnage that the boys have can be prob. However I've to a pretty strong current in Coolie's tank and he laid around a lot the first few days but he's gotten used to it now and doesn't even notice it lol.

With that small of a tank it is hard for the little guy to get away from the current. He is a cutie pie for sure and what a teeny one at that.
Like PFP, I have also had to add a piece of sponge to the filter in one of my betta tanks that did not have a way to slow the speed of water flow. It does work to help slow the flow. I remember when I had my first betta in a 2.5 tank and he looked so lost in that tank too lol....
Congrats on your new baby boy~

Here's a pic of my filter.
It can stop flow completely or just slow it, depending on how it's placed.
Hope this helps

Thank you everyone!! He's a real sweetie that's for sure. I forgot how little they are when they are young.
Pinkflyodpuffer Thanks for the photo!! Do you think it would still work with a small whisper filter? and would floss be OK to put there? (polyester fiber)

aaawwwwwww...cute! I did not use that filter that came with the Minibow tank.. I got the Azoo Palm Filter...much Better for Bettas ...It is like a tiny power filter ,it is a sponge filter and you can adjust the flow....They fit on the back so they don't take up room in your tank...You can get them at Doctors Foster & Smith....I think Petsmart has them too.
They cost under $10.

your baby is soooo cute!

the minibow filter does have an adjustment on the bottom. its hard to get to and I had to take mine out to adjust to the lowest setting. but if you adjust it, should be fine.

I use the same method in my Minibow tank with the filter it came with. Floss should be just fine.
