Desk top tanks

Hey I've just got a question for you guys. I was wandering wal-mart the other day and I noticed that they're selling the strangest looking tanks right now. They're the "desktop" design type ones. Long and norrow. I saw that there was a 9.__ gal one and I was wondering if that would even be practical or not. Also how would that be for a betta tank?

9 gallon would be a nice betta tank, I don't think I've seen those but I saw some tanks that were really flat. It was like a 38 gal or something but it was like only 10 inches wide or something..... Its like its only about what people like to look at not whats really good for the fish.... I've seen people sell these kids betta tanks on online that are like probably 2 cups maybe, they make them all fancy and put popular cartoons on them.....its sick........

It says that the tank is 9 and some gallons. I don't know the exact dimesions but the box looked 3-4 inches thick.

that would actually be neat for some neons or a shrimp colony or something

It waould probably be tricky to clean.

Maybe it would be a practical snail tank?

I can't imagine any fish living comfortably in a tank that narrow. Besides, like you said, it would be difficult to clean.

Interesting.. I've not seen those at the walmarts here.. are they like the bookshelf tanks that petco has?
