On the inside lookin' out

Pic of Crystal in her upgrade...lol..She has been in a 1-1/2 gallon tank all along...seemed very happy and active in it. Blue has been in a 5 gallon and seemed to hate it.. not real active unless someone comes around...Didn't like the flow of the filter which is not very strong and having a big tail seemed to struggle a little to make it to the top. I have debated whether to switch these to fish for a long time now and decided to go for it as he was very happy in the 1-1/2 gallon tank for quite awhile before his upgrade....he seems much happier in the small tank and Crystal doesn't seem to know what to make of all of the space. Blue is swimming all around the little tank checking it out... I can almost hear him..."oh wow it's my old appartment back"...lol

She's a cutie for sure
I have (4) 2.5 gallons for my girls and they all seem happy to me, In Fact since I gave Hick's a 10 gallon all to himself he seems much more pouty and I just don't know whySpunkmeyer is in a 10 ga as well and seems to be loving it

As I have said all along, Each betta is a different individual. Bigger is not always better. If you watch your Betta they let you know if they are happy or not. Some like it wide open, some like it a little closer. And either way, if you keep the water up to snuff your doing better. A little cramped but clean is much nicer than big and dirty.

She's a beauty! Is Blue in a 5g hex? I found our Bettas didn't care for the taller hex tanks as much as rectangular tanks that have swimming room.

Blue was in a 5 gallon hex but is now in a 1 1/2 gallon hex...he likes his tank small and crowded...Floyd and Crystal are both in 5 gallon hx and seem to like them. Blue has a very big tail and seems to not like dragging it around ...he is very laid back and swims when he needs to...lol. I think Blue shoulda been a plakat... not a halfmoon lol.

You might want to try a 6.6g bookshelf or 6g eclipse tank sometime since some Bettas just don't like the 5g hex tanks, some even flare all the time in them. They're 'horizontal' fish and the 5g hex tanks are mostly vertical swimming room.
