TFA101

Well, Mango has recently begun to flare and display for me, and only me. He won't do it for anyone else. However, even more recently, I've noticed in the morning (about 6:00AM), right when I turn on the lights, he goes on a flaring spree (even when I'm not in his vision). He swims around the tank with tail and fins in full display mode (once stretched out so far he blew his tail!), with his gill covers flared out. He'll do this for about an hour, and I've spotted no reflections he could be flaring at. He is however making his bubblenest. Could he be showing his male ego? Or is it different?

My fiance's betta Oscar loves to flare at me when I walk up to him, then he figures out a 6'5" person is probably a challenge and retreats. Its pretty entertaining. I think he's asking for food really.
