In perusing the interwebs I came across the idea of putting banana/almond/katapang/oak leaves in with bettas to improve health. Apparently there's a substance found in varying quantities in the leaves that helps in conditioning bettas and in healing scale/fin damage whether from sickness or mating/fighting.

I was just curious, does anyone here happen to do that, and if so how well does it work?

np ) Some times Oak leaves are used for fish who naturally come from tea colored water with leaf litter in it.
