| Since you mentioned me by name, I'm guessing you're wanting my reaction?
You won't get one. I already said what I thought. |

I Have one of these in my tank also, and its tipped sideways so all fish can come in and out of it..also has some plants and rocks inside of it for the cories to rest...nothing wrong with the dome until a fish gets stuck underneath it...I dont find that funny but to each their own I guess |

| I think I see what he meant was so funny is that the other fish forcefully took over the Betta's "territory" and then ended up shooting themselves in the proverbial foot by getting stuck in it. |

Just b/c it's alive doesn't mean it's happy. There is a huge difference between THRIVING and just surviving.
Homeless people are alive but they aren't thriving now are they? |

| I fail to see why a betta CANT thrive in a large tank... the argument is usually that they cant thrive in a small bowl, which I think everyone agrees on, but the amount of water (and also the presence of other fish) in a 55g tank is substantially less than what the bettas live in even in nature.... so how is 55g too much water for them? |

Homeless people are alive but they chose to be homeless we are humans and we can move around and think and of corse develop, no1 can tells what to do.
all homeless need is money to thrive,,,,,,
fish on the other hand are pets and they have to do what you want them to do. they survive bc u want them to survive, happy or not we dont kno! they swimm up and down fast or slow, thats all they can do and eat, yep there is a huge difference between humans and pets.
my betta will grow vigorously(thrive) he is smart and he knows how to move around the tank, on the other hand i had to move the crystal dome in order to get the bala sharks out bc they were stocked in there for a day and a half, when all they had to do was swim down and out, but they are not too clever!! so they werent THRIVING in the crystal dome they were just passing by,, but couldnt find the exit! Some people are sick or just can't get the help. That was a very narrow minded statement. Which says a lot.
If you can't tell if a fish is happy or sad then you are in the wrong hobby and in for the wrong reasons. Pets are for our enjoyment not for us to what we want with. They are NOT toys or things to play with and do what you want with.
I am sorry but where I come from people "respect" their pets, cats, dogs and fish . Learn to do what best for them. We try to imitate their natural habitat. I hate to tell you this but all living creatures have feelings if you can't see that then you are definitely not getting the most out of the hobby. |

| Good question....I was wondering the same thing.....The water looked rather nasty and cloudy....
This whole thread is disturbing.....Starting with the fish and ending with the "homeless" comment....I agree with Allie, ALL living things have feelings.....This is why I try and treat my fish like one of the family and provide the best care possible..... |
