| I have some really sad news... Well, as you know, about two months ago, I rescued a little betta from petco. today i came home to find him gone.
he had lost interest in his food a couple days ago. he started to get very listless and pale. soon all he was doing was laying at the bottom of his tank. he couldn't get up to the surface to breathe, so this morning i put him in the bowl i got him in so he could get up to the surface for air. the water parameters were fine, i checked them three times. a while ago i buried him in a leaf-lined grave inder a little maple tree. i can't believe he's gone!!! |

| I'm sorry you lost him. You gave him a good life even if it was for such a short time. |

| I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. At least his last few months were better than sitting in the pint cup at the store. |

| Good for you and for your new friend, whoever he/she is!
Since you don't know what went wrong with the first little guy, it's possible he could have died of something the new one could pick up. If you haven't thought about sterilizing the tank and anything else you intend to keep in it, you might want to consider it. Also, don't forget to pick up new filter media. That's what I'd do.
Some people might take the risk, which may or may not be slight, of remnant nasties to avoid being back to Square One with the cycle, though.
We'll be looking forward to meeting the new one! |

It's alway hard to loose a pet, but generally our lifespans are much greater than our pets, and have to eventually deal with losing them. |

| I'm so sorry My betta did the same before I lost him. Don't get discouraged, we learn from mistakes. |

| I'm so sorry for your loss I know how much it hurts to lose one of these little finned friends,If you decide to get a new finned friend to help fill the void...I would start from scratch just to be safe. |

| If it has just started cycling it will be a while before it is ready for a new baby unless you are going to be doing the daily water changes. I hope you are thinking about that. It really is better to cycle fishless first.
