Guess what? My uncle has a 55 gallon he needs to get rid of!! Fve gallons more than I asked for!

Anyways the stock is subject to change again but I've fallen in love with the female betta and their spunk and personality. My potential tankmates for her would be:

5 columbian tetras
1 flying fox
1 BN pleco
6 Pygmaeus Corydoras
(POSSIBLY) 1 or 2 Banded Rainbowfish

can a female betta be done? if so, at what temp?

congrats on the new tank!!! as most have said before, and will continue to say, betta's like to be alone...and fems included...some girlies will be ok if they are already in a tank together and grew up together..but that can and does change at a drop of a hat..just make sure if you try it, you have a back up plan for her as she could be hurt badly in a community tank

I think the pleco and corys would go well with a female betta in a 55g. Lots of silk or real plants and caves.. and a totally smooth piece of mopani driftwood. You could probably have a couple schools of corys or go with 4 or 5 plecos.
