| I would think either one as long as its 5 gallons, that would be a personal choice.... and personally I dont like hex tanks lol, they make everything look weird |

| I didn't care for the hex, it found it hard to clean and when I did it stressed my betta and it didn't give much swim surface.
It's a personal choice though, as you can see martinismommy loves them. lol |

| I have a mini bow 5 for my frog, I love it.
The hex was given to me with a goldfish in it (another story lol)
The filter was broke so my husband modified it to accomodate an HOB. |

| I had a 30g hex once and I couldnt stand it... you feel like your looking into a circus house of mirrors lol... luckily it sprung a leak anyway and the PetSmart I got it from let me exchange it for a 29g or I probably would have gone blind trying to see the fish in it |

| Yeah, funny how you can look at them and not see the fish....or if you look at the corner just right you see a disjointed fish. lol |

| Hexes are great when they are large quantities of water... for a small corner I would go with a rectangular 5 or 10 gallon tank... the shape is much more suited to bettas anyway, they like long and shallow tanks. |

I have made room for all sizes of tanks in places where tanks don't normally go... I have to put up a curtin on the side of the 10g when I cook tilapia so I don't make my fish upset lol.... |

| There was a guy on this forum who had a hex for his Betta. The problem he had, was that the Betta was seeing his own reflection in the corners and was constantly flaring and stressed out.
So for that reason, I would say stay away from the hex. |

| I have a 10 gallon for Raymond, a 6.6g bookshelf for Leonard and my son's girlfriend's betta, Pepper is in a 5g hex. Pepper did flare in the hex to begin with but we put plants in the corners that made him craziest and he's fine now. My personal favorite is the bookshelf tank.
