| Time to start worrying about Sunny Sunny still has the red thread worms hanging out his anus. Now he fins are getting holes and his tummy is a bit bloated. He is still being himself but I don't know what he will look like in a weeks time. He wasn't eating the medicated food the last 2 days of the treatment. I just floated there until I cleaned it up. I cannot get pure levmisol (sp?)here...so what else can I do? I HATE HATE this parasite. I so wish I never got those keyhole cichlids and just added them to my 33g with the angels.
I know I have been a bummer here lately..but soon as this mess is over with we are getting new fish, which means new experiences. |

I have a feeling we got the right treatment too late for them. But time will tell...two more weeks left of the treatment. ALL 9 Africans and 10 plecos are fine have been..except the blue hap who had separate issues which have gotten nearly 100% better. |

| What treatment are you using on them now, Allie? I am so sorry but I have been off and on so much I am losing track? Are you still using the Prazi on them? I am so sorry that the stuff is so hard to come by to treat them but the things that are really strong enough to do the job immediately are unfortunately "Prescription Only" and if you do not have Aquatic Veterinarians like at a large aquarium somewhere you are not likely to find it anywhere..that is a bit of the pits.
I am sending all the good thoughts I can for you and for your remaining fish and hopefully a miracle cure.

| Aww, poor little Sunny. I wish I had some extra advice for him, but you are doing everything you can for him and he knows he's loved and cared for. I really hope he'll beat this out - he's a little fighter. |

| Oh Allie, not Sunny...I wish those darn worms would just give up already. They've done more than enough damage already, that's for sure.

Rose | I am using Jungle Labs medicated food which has levimisol in it along with other meds you listed before. The Prazi Pro is useless on Camallanus worms.
On another note, it cured whatever was wrong with my blue hap. |

He looks the same this morning, big poop going on right(good sign). He is still acting the same with me posing for pix and in my face.
The holes in the fins are the bad sign I was hoping NOT to see. I guess I have to do another dose of fin rot treatment...Triple sulfa.
I hope he makes it. He needs to eat the food every time I give it and he doesn't like it. He looks up then at me then up again...as if to say gee thanks. |

| Do you think you could maybe trick him into eating the medicated food? That's how I got Riley to start eating peas, by dropping in a regular pellet and have him eat it then dropping in the medicated one. It might be worth a try. |

Maybe if I don't feed him for the next 2 days he'll be hungry enough for part 3 of the treatment on Sunday. |

| Maybe try soaking the pellets in liquid from something he really likes? Garlic juice, liquid from bloodworms, something like that? Sometimes you can find flavour enhancers for fish at the pet store. That way they may appeal to him a bit more? I don't know if it would work, but might be worth a shot to get him taking his meds properly.
I hope the rest of your fish pull through! Camallanus are awful. |

| Sunny was having a poop fest last night. I hope this means he is pooping out the worms too. I still see some out of him, but they are much further out than usual. He is not depressed or lethargic...which is a good thing. I will do whatever it take to get him to eat the food again. Lil' Brat! |

| I sure hope that's a good sign, Allie. Can they live outside the fish?
Come on Sunny, we're pulling for you! |

Come on Sunny, we're pulling for you! | Not as adults I don't think but as larvae they can. Which is when they can be transferred thru a water drop.
They depend completely on the fish for food. When sticking out of the fish they could be dying or having babies, they have live larvae, no egg stage. When the worms are dying they usually thin out and shrivel up. |
