i think she colored up cuz when i got her in the torture cup she was milky white and now she is turning a reddish white so i think its that but she is still named pearl

Well, I still think Pearl is a lovely name for her. They are all our little gems and a pearl comes from underwater. Plus, she'll probably always have some of the whitish coloration shining through, with other color on top of that, just like the finest natural or cultured pearls. If you decide to keep her name, it will always fondly remind you of how you saved her. Not trying to talk you into keeping the name in case you're contemplating changing it, of course, just expressing my opinion that it's a lovely name.

You're really in love with her, I can tell.

What a cute girl! And I agree with Pam, that name is priceless.
Hard to tell from the photo but Pearl seems to look a lot like my pink and lavender girl, Consuela. I got her to match Esteban, because she was also very pale when I got her... obviously she is not nearly as white as he is any more, she is really colouring up and even getting these REALLY bright metallic/neon blue streaks at the base of her tail! It's amazing how they blossom with proper care and nutrition...
I can't wait to see more photos of your special girl, and so happy that she was rescued by someone that takes such good care of her. If only all bettas were so lucky!
