Crush and his pea

I'm going to share this photo of my boy Crush enjoying his pea....Because there has been discussion tonight about the possibility of over cleaning/interfering with betta tanks I'm going to share this with you all.....

As you can see this pea is rather large....I firmly believe that this has helped my boys thrive and use their natural abilities and instinct to chase and chew they food....My boys play with their pea and it gives the time to excersice and use their skills to chew it up a little at a time..I never have any leftovers sitting in my tanks...

Could we have possibly made things too easy for this beautiful fish? Just a thought....

omg I love that pic~! hes really trying to fit it in his mouth LOL

is that his steroid? hehehe

I do think some ppl over due it..I think we all do something different and sometime others should be doing more...I personally havent fed any peas to my boys..as of yet it hasnt been needed..they get their pellets in the morn, and bloodworms n shrimp at nite....to be totally honest, and it works for me, I clean their tanks every other week because their readings are perfect so I dont mess with it weekly...my overstocked tanks get changes every other day and all the rest get it every other week..the betta's, the 30 gallon are bi weekly..with my 75 and 20 gal every other day..my boys have to chase their food as the bubble wands make them LOL ..I havent had fin rot other than when rafikki got his licken from my chi, and one time when omone had rafikki for company one day had his fins chewed..other than that, all my boys have had no issues..NOW YOU WATCH that will all go to you know where because I have no wood to knock on!!

this works for me, and my boys are always healthy, but doesnt always work for everyone..again I want to stress, my water parimeters are perfect and are tested weekly to be sure they stay that way...thats just my two cents

What a cute pic He really seems to be enjoying his pea
I was always under the impression the smaller the tank the more water changes, like a 2.5 tank should have more water changes than a 20 gallon ..am I mis informed? My water conditions are perfect as far as I can tell,But am I over doing it?

He's so cute!!

My boys don't really care if they can't get their pea. If it sinks, they forget about it. Consuela, on the other hand, will do ANYTHING to get her pea and chew it up (I give bigger pieces, like Karen). Boys.

That's so cute! Reminds me of when we first fed Sora a pea and he swam around with half a pea sticking out of his mouth.
