Hi jm,
I'm not sure what you mean by a particular kind of garlic. I use the minced garlic in a jar. Just add a few drops to directly into his water. I've also fed mine a couple bits of garlic, she loves it.

You can order Vita-Chem and Garlic Guard here:

That is the big 3 when it comes to fish care and they are all available here. This is the only place I know that carries ALL 3 and to save postage I would order there if you need them. VitaChem is the fish's vitamins and need to be used every other day even when they are not sick. Garlic Guard is a supplement to their immune system if you do not use garlic juice and is used one time a week even if they are not sick. Fish Protector is a preparation that helps to calm and heal sick or injured fish and I can guarantee you will need it at some point so it is always wise to have it on hand. All of these of course are used more often and are more important than ever if your fish is injured or ill.

That's one reason most of our supplies come from there, we go through those more as we get more tanks and it's not a bad idea to have some extra bottles around.
